Swift intervention prevents escalation at golf tournament
A physical altercation among a group of apparently intoxicated individuals was quickly brought under control by Gauteng Traffic Wardens and private security personnel stationed outside the Welcome Centre at the LIV Golf South Africa tournament in Steyn City on the evening of 19 March 2026.
The incident unfolded at approximately 20:00 when security staff positioned along the venue's outer perimeter intervened to break up the brawl. The matter was promptly escalated to the Venue Operational Centre (VOC), the hub responsible for coordinating and monitoring all safety and security operations during the event.
None of the individuals involved chose to lay charges of assault following the confrontation. All parties were immediately escorted off the premises and removed from the venue.
