Father's anguish as young man disappears without a trace
A Sebokeng family is pleading for the public's help in locating 21-year-old Thabo Toyi, who has been missing since Sunday, 8 February 2026. The young man was last seen at his home in Zone 17, Sebokeng, and has not been heard from since.
His father, Seabata Toyi, told media that he believed his son had gone to visit his mother, who resides in the Smallfarms farm area near Evaton. However, when Thabo failed to return or make contact, alarm bells began to ring for the worried family.
According to Seabata, his son would occasionally make trips to see his mother, making the initial absence seem unremarkable. It was only as time passed with no word from Thabo that concern grew into fear.
"He seldom visits his mother, so at first I thought nothing of it. But when days went by and he did not come back, I knew something was wrong."
Investigators attached to the Sebokeng police station have opened a missing person docket and are actively pursuing leads. Preliminary enquiries conducted in the surrounding area have so far yielded no results, and Thabo's whereabouts remain unknown.

Efforts to track down the young man have been hampered by the fact that it is not known what clothing he was wearing at the time of his disappearance. This has made it more difficult for authorities and community members to identify potential sightings.
Police have urged anyone with information, no matter how small, to come forward and assist in bringing Thabo home safely. The family remains hopeful that someone in the community may have seen him or have knowledge of his movements after he left the Zone 17 residence.
