Massive response to police training programme

The South African Police Service has been inundated with applications for its Basic Police Learning Development Programme (BPLDP), with more than 67 774 submissions received through its e-recruitment system within the first 24 hours of opening.

The overwhelming response from hopeful candidates across the country has placed significant strain on the official website, resulting in slower loading times and delayed responses for users attempting to access the careers portal.

"The Technology Management Services (TMS) inclusive of IT experts are continuously monitoring the influx volume of applications."

Authorities have acknowledged the technical difficulties and confirmed that specialist IT teams are working around the clock to manage the surge in web traffic and ensure the platform remains functional throughout the application period.

Applicants urged to remain patient

Prospective recruits have been encouraged not to lose hope despite the sluggish performance of the online system. The has advised candidates to keep refreshing the careers page and to persist with their attempts to submit applications.

The closing date for all BPLDP applications has been set for 18 July 2025, giving candidates sufficient time to complete and submit their documentation. Importantly, all applications must be lodged exclusively through the official website portal.

The police service has stressed that submissions sent via email will not be accepted, and only those received through the designated online system will be considered valid.

The volume of interest signals a strong desire among South Africans to join the ranks of the country's law enforcement agency, with applications streaming in from communities in every corner of the nation.
