New Leadership Team Takes Shape
Malamulele police station in Limpopo has elected a fresh slate of junior committee members tasked with driving operational excellence and unity within the ranks. The elections were conducted under the watchful eye of senior officers at the station, marking a significant step in strengthening internal governance structures.
Station Commander Colonel Kanelani Rikhotso presided over the process alongside Lieutenant Colonel Gezani Tommy Shivambu, who serves as Detective Commander, and Lieutenant Colonel Moyana Fernandez, the Support Head. Their supervision ensured the elections proceeded in an orderly and transparent fashion.
The newly elected members will each take responsibility for a specific portfolio aimed at improving station performance. Warrant Officer Bakela was chosen as Secretary, while Sergeant Hlungwani N.M will serve as Chairperson. Sergeant Khuzwayo B was elected Co-Chairperson, and Sergeant Mavasa N.W will oversee operational matters.
Additional portfolios were also filled, with Sergeant Musimeki B.T appointed to handle development, and Warrant Officer Ndou J taking charge of internal patriotic duties. The personal profiling portfolio will be managed jointly by Sergeant Hlengani N.T and Sergeant Ntsanwisi W.W, while Sergeant Maluleke T.L and A/C Mabedhle were elected to lead innovations.
Call for Unity and Innovation
Those present at the gathering extended their congratulations to the incoming committee and urged them to harness every available resource and skill set to foster innovation. The message was clear — each member of the organisation must play a meaningful role in ensuring the station operates at its full potential.
"Everyone within the organisation must play their role in a fulfilling manner, and the new committee should use all necessary tools and skills to be innovative," the gathering resolved.
Colonel Rikhotso expressed gratitude to all officers who attended the proceedings and delivered a rallying call for solidarity within the station's ranks.
"We must unite and work as a team in order to reach new heights," Colonel Rikhotso told media after the elections.
The formation of the junior committee is expected to bolster internal coordination and morale at the Limpopo station, as members take up their respective mandates with immediate effect.
Strengthening internal governance at local police stations directly affects the safety and service delivery experienced by communities across Limpopo, where residents depend on effective policing to address persistent crime challenges. For businesses operating in the Malamulele area, improved station coordination could translate into faster response times and more reliable investigations. Whether this new committee structure delivers measurable operational gains will depend on sustained institutional support and accountability in the months ahead.
