The Iranian Red Crescent confirmed on Monday that 555 people have lost their lives in a wave of American and Israeli military strikes across Iran that commenced two days earlier. The humanitarian organisation disclosed via Telegram that 131 cities had been impacted by what it described as "Zionist-American terrorist attacks" targeting multiple regions of the country.

In response, Iran's Revolutionary Guards announced they had fired missiles at an Israeli government complex in Tel Aviv, as well as military and security installations in Haifa, with an additional strike directed at east Jerusalem. The Guards confirmed the assault formed part of a tenth wave of retaliatory action and that Kheibar ballistic missiles were deployed in the operation.

Meanwhile, Kuwait's defence ministry reported that several American warplanes went down on Monday morning as Iran continued strikes in the Gulf region for a third consecutive day. A ministry spokesperson confirmed that all crew members survived the incidents, with authorities launching immediate search and rescue operations. The aircrews were evacuated and taken to hospital for medical assessment, with their condition described as stable. The cause of the crashes remains under investigation.

The unprecedented scale of the US-Israeli offensive, which began on Saturday, has prompted an extraordinary session at the United Nations' nuclear agency. Russia, a close ally of Tehran, formally requested the meeting at the Vienna-based International Atomic Energy Agency, following a similar request from Iran. The session precedes an already scheduled regular sitting of the IAEA's board of governors, which comprises 35 member countries. The agency stated it was "closely monitoring developments in the Middle East, and urges restraint to avoid any nuclear safety risks to people in the region".

The conflict has also sparked unrest beyond the immediate theatre of war. Protests broke out in several major Pakistani cities, including the southern port city of Karachi, where demonstrators attempted to storm American diplomatic premises. In Pakistan's northern Gilgit-Baltistan region, violent clashes between protesters and law enforcement left at least 13 people dead, according to officials.
